To get started with your Trezor device, follow these steps on the Trezor.io/start page:
Unbox Your Trezor:
Ensure the package is intact and the holographic seal is not tampered with.
Inside the package, you should find the Trezor device, USB cable, recovery seed cards, and instruction manual.
Connect Your Trezor Device:
Use the USB cable to connect your Trezor device to your computer.
Visit Trezor.io/start:
Open your web browser and go to Trezor.io/start.
You will be guided to download Trezor Suite or Trezor Bridge, depending on your operating system.
Install Trezor Suite or Trezor Bridge:
Follow the instructions to download and install Trezor Suite, which is the main interface for managing your Trezor wallet.
If necessary, install Trezor Bridge to enable communication between your Trezor device and your computer.
Initialize Your Trezor Device:
Open Trezor Suite (or the Trezor Wallet interface if you used Trezor Bridge).
Follow the on-screen instructions to initialize your Trezor device.
Create a new wallet and set a strong PIN code.
Backup Your Recovery Seed:
During setup, your Trezor device will display a 24-word recovery seed.
Write down each word in order on the recovery seed cards provided.
Store the recovery seed cards in a secure location. Do not share or store them digitally.
Accessing Your Wallet:
Connect your Trezor device to your computer.
Open Trezor Suite and enter your PIN code to unlock your device.
Sending and Receiving Cryptocurrency:
To Send: Select the cryptocurrency you want to send, enter the recipient's address, amount, and confirm the transaction on your Trezor device.
To Receive: Select the cryptocurrency, click "Receive", copy your wallet address, and share it with the sender.
Managing Accounts:
You can add multiple accounts for different cryptocurrencies.
Select “Add account” and choose the desired cryptocurrency.
Security Features:
Enable a passphrase for an additional layer of security.
Regularly check for and install firmware updates.
MetaMask:
Open MetaMask and click on the account icon.
Select "Connect Hardware Wallet" and choose Trezor.
Follow the prompts to connect your Trezor device.
Other Wallets and dApps:
Many wallets and dApps support Trezor. Look for options to connect a hardware wallet and follow the integration steps.
Connection Issues: Ensure Trezor Bridge is running and try reconnecting your device. Restart your computer if necessary.
Firmware Issues: Follow the instructions on the Trezor website to recover your device if you encounter firmware issues.
